Roland SERVICE INFORMATION NO 100227-1 JP-6 SUBJECT JP-6'S PROM VER 6.0 Please add the following informations to our previous Service Information No.100227 (Subject: PROM Ver. UP on JP-6). (1) Switching the JP-6 On will automatically select initial MIDI Channel 1. (2) If You wish to change the Initial MIDI Channel, while pressing the Tune button down, assign a MIDI Channel by Pressing the Bank button (A or B) and the Number Button (1 to 8). A-1...........CH-1 A-2...........CH-2 . . . A-8...........CH-16 * While the Tune Button is depressed, the Indicators of the Bank and Number Button will be lighted, so you can easily tell the current MIDI Channel number. (3) Distribution of the MIDI Channel Number in the SPLIT mode. The Upper section of the keyboard will be assigned to the MIDI Channel you have set. The Lower section will be assigned to the set MIDI Channel +1. * If the Upper section is set to Channel 16, Channel 1 is assigned to the Lower section. HOW IT MODIFY 1. Remove the side Panel (see Fig.1) 2. Open the front panel 3. Remove the PROM (2732-A) from the CPU-Board (see Fig.2) 4. Insert a new PROM (Ver 6.0).NOTE:If your JP-6 is one of the serial number 250100 to 260499, cut the brown wire connected to the BJ-7th terminal. Then don't leave the cut bare end of wire in the open.(see Fig.3)
