Roland SERVICE INFORMATION NO 100206-1 JP-6 SUBJECT The countermeasure for LFO leakage This information is for solution to two kinds of LFO leakage problems on JP-6 which occurs in two different panel setting conditions as below : 1. LFO Leakage-A Panel setting and the phenomenon : An LFO leakage can be audible as a noise in synchronization at the LFO rate when some controls are set at the following positions (even when control "LFO" in VCA section is set at "O" position) "RATE" in LFO-1 section : "3" "ENV-2 LEVEL" in VCA section : "10" "LFO" in VCA section : "0" The cause and Countermeasure : This LFO leakage is caused among wires which are wired between CPU board and MODULE (2 VOICES)/ MODULE (4 VOICES) boards. Please separate a bundle of the wires into two bundles to eliminate the LFO leakage. Please refer to the attached drawing. NOTE: The above modification has already been taken to JP-6 from the serial number 280950. Accordingly, this modification is effective on JP-6 with serial numbers from 250100 to 280949. 2. LFO leakage-B Panel setting and phenomenon : An LFO leakage like clock occurs when the following controls are set at the following points : "RATE" in LF0-1 section : "3" "WAVEFORM" in LF0-1 section : SQUARE "ENV-2" LEVEL" in VCA section : "10" "LFO" in VCA section : "10"
