Roland SERVICE INFORMATION NO 100203 JP-6, CR-5000/8000 and TR-808 SUBJECT A misoperation on JP-6 arpeggio function This information is for solutions to above subject, and we wish you to apply following procedure to above models when you have a chance to repair a failure as shown below : The Phenomenon: When connecting "TRIGGER" of Rhythm units CR-5000/8000 and TR-808 to "ARPEGGIO CLOCK INPUT" on JP-6, a failure occure in such a state that some steps are sometimes missing, especially in the range from middle to high tempo. JP-6/TR-808 Connection(Solution) : STEP-1 : Cut the printed foil pattern where it is located between JACK-7 (Arpeggio Clock Input) and the end of C-17 0-001 Capacitor on "JACK-BOARD" 149H186C to add a resistor. STEP-2 : Add the resistor 10K newly to the place between JACK-7 and the end of C-17 Capacitor. STEP-3 : Replace the C-17 Capacitor with new one 0.1 type. NOTE : In case of this JP-6/TR-808 connecting you do not need to take any modification to TR-808 except JP-6. NOTE : This alteration has already been carried out on JP-6 from the serial number 322700, Please refer to the attached drawing. JP-6/CR-5000 and 8000 Connection (Solution) In case of these connections in addition to above JP-6 modification, it is necessary to take a modification to CR-5000/8000 : Replace C-48 0.0022 Capacitor which is mounted by the JK-6 (Jack socket) on CPU- BOARD in CR-5000/8000 with new one 0.056 type. NOTE : This modification has been added to CR-5000/8000 already from the following serial numbers : CR-5000 : from S/NO. 347250 CR-8000 : from S/NO. 349850
